Each year the Nordic Startup Awards celebrates the startup ecosystems in a grand celebration and award ceremony. This year a total of 65 Danish startups, founders, ecosystems, accelerators, investors, and coworking spaces are nominated in 13 categories. Accelerace is nominated as best accelerator program and best investor in the 2017 edition.
The annual Nordic Startup Awards event recognizes, celebrate and connect the Nordic startup ecosystems. Accelerace is shortlisted as best Danish accelerator in close competition with Thinkubator, Danish Tech Challenge, Odense Robotics, and the corporate accelerator Next Step Challenge, that Accelerace ran for a three-year period. Accelerace is also shortlisted as the best investor 2017 in fierce competition with Jesper Buch Holding, Tommy Andersen, NorthCap, and Syddansk Innovation.
An eventful year
A lot has happened in the last year where Accelerace has launched five new elite accelerators focusing on technology, foodtech, cleantech, life sciences & biotech and medtech & health care. The accelerators are launched as part of the Scale-up Denmark initiative. In the recent year, Accelerace also launched new corporate partnerships with Mærsk, ARLA foods, FOSS Analytics, and Business Lolland-Falster. Accelerace also partnered with ISDI, Danone, Mobile World Capital, FundingBox and more as part of the European Impact Growth startup accelerator.
The new development also meant a warm welcome to many new team members. Meet the team here: https://www.accelerace.io/team/
Accelerace also launched the elite NOME (Nordic Mentor Network for Entrepreneurship) based on a Novo Nordisk Foundation initiative to propel promising life science startups to international success. The network is inspired by MIT Venture Mentoring Service in the US, and NOME has close ties with the US life science ecosystem. The network is today the first Nordic mentor initiative with 30 C-level mentors and partnerships with Medicon Village in Southern Sweden, Turku Science Park in Finland, Oslo Cancer Cluster and Aleap in Norway and Karolinska Institutet Innovations AB in Stockholm in Northern Sweden.
